1. The basics — your images stay with you
All PNGkitch editing happens inside your own browser or app. We never upload the images you edit, the contents of your annotations, or your file names to our servers.
2. Data stored locally
Settings such as theme and language, along with your license state, are stored only on your device (in browser localStorage and similar). They are not transmitted to us.
3. Analytics (free web version only)
The free web version may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the product is used. Only GA's standard measurement events are sent — never images, annotations, or file names. In regions where consent is required (the EEA, the UK and others), no analytics cookies are set until you consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time. The Pro version is not measured at all.
4. License validation
To verify a Pro license, the license key's validity is checked against our license management service (Polar). No image or annotation content is included in that request.
5. Personal data at purchase
Pro purchases are completed in the checkout of Polar Software, Inc., our Merchant of Record. Information required for payment (name, email address, payment details, etc.) is collected and managed by Polar under their privacy policy. We receive only what is needed for license management.
6. Enquiries
Any email address you send us is used only to reply to you.
7. Cookies
Cookies used on this site and in the free web version are limited to analytics (GA4, under the conditions in section 3). A detailed cookie inventory and retention periods are in preparation.
8. Changes
Any revision to this policy will be announced on this page.
